WEAPONS OF MASS CREATION

In 2003 Operation Juggernaut, the war on graffiti was in full swing in Manchester. The Weapons of Mass Creation were created in response. A series of creative drones and droids armed with all the tools required to capture the attention of the world, hidden in plain sight.

The Year was 2003.  After the invasion of Iraq, another war began closer to home. Operation Juggernaut, referred to in the local news as ‘the war on graffiti’, was in progress. The British Transport Police and Greater Manchester Police began a serious campaign against graffiti artists. Graffiti artists found themselves woken at dawn to police raids upon their homes searching for evidence. Artist were taken in for questioning concerning illicit artistic activity around the city and, if found guilty, were imprisoned for their art-crimes.

This was the beginning of the hunt for the Weapons of Mass Creation, a series of plans for machines capable of creating beyond imagination, ready for deployment on the city streets.
