Featured Locations

Manchester is an unusual city, comprising of both old and new architecture with an ever changing artistic landscape. As a result, no two street art tours are exactly the same. New work can appear and the old work disappear over night. There are pieces of commissioned  work on the tour, some of which have been created by the All Weather Artist family, which remain consistent features. However, we never really know what we might see and who we might bump into. There are examples of illegal artwork by the likes of international artists such as The London Police, Space Invader and Banksy along side the Mancunian heroes like Kelzo, Qubek, Irek Tank Petrol and Akse on show.

The Northern Quarter of Manchester is now the cities cultural and arts hub. Even as recently as 2005 there was little in the way of street art compared to today. The All Weather Artist family had a great deal to do with this change as you will learn. Now the streets are alive with graffiti and street art, both commissioned and illegal work completed by local and international artists. The Northern Quarter also is home to some great shopping, galleries and dining and can easily entertain  any art enthusiast for a few days. Home to Manchester's legendary Afflecks palace which has been the centre of alternative and street culture for 3 decades.

The Manchester Ship Canal was central to the cities growth during the industrial revolution. By walking only a small portion of its 36 mile length from Manchester city centre you will witness its modern development alongside its industrial heritage. Lots of graffiti and street artist have taken advantage of its riverbanks filled with derelict buildings, tunnels, building sites and the tram line which runs from Manchester to Salford. You will find impressive murals along side tags and throw ups running end to end for great distances and changing daily.

Hulme tunnels has hosted many pieces of work over the years but has risen in popularity with writers in recent times due to the the apparent legality of the spot.  Hulme tunnels connect Hulme with the Universities and central Manchester. Once the stomping ground of the legendary ICA crew and Manchester Artist KELZO, it is now an ever changing landscape with graffiti writers visiting frequently to get their name up on the roundabout junction of the Princess Parkway.
